On the move...
Here are a few photos from the past couple of days at our project operations center at the University of New Orleans. A few days ago, our room was pretty crowded. Now we've learned to push some activities outside the office: e.g., data input at the library next door, having a team leader in the field to distribute assignments, etc.
Doing this keeps the room pretty open. Today we just congregate there first thing in the morning, for lunch, and then at the end of the day. During lunch, Wynecta Fischer stopped by about the upcoming planning meetings in the city. We had an impromptu discussion about ongoing developments in the city.

This has been an amazing week. Mind-explosive. As a Dartmouth grad student I did not exactly know what I had signed up for but this is what i can say for sure: I'm glad to be here. And not just for myself. Our group - 9 of us, all grads - has been strong from the beginning. We are getting a lot done & we are doing it together.
The last few days we have been helping with the Gentilly Project. Beforehand, we were gutting houses.
So much has happened since we have been here. And having met Professor Jett and Christiana has given new meaning to our graduate student initiative led by Sarah and Abbey. My lower back hurts (probably because I haven't been doing my stretches in the morning...)and my cell phone caused a major headache and hurt communication badly this morning.

I have walked and talked and learned and experienced New Orleans on many many different levels and it's been rewarding. It's good to be here. It's good to get things done.
And it's good we can take it easy tonight in New Orleans. Because it's Friday! We'll need the energy for the weekend.
Sweet living. Good times.
Bust and check.
Let's keep it up. Gentilly is coming back! Big time.
good times!!
